Promoting information for access to public services

Information, training and cultural mediation interweave and integrate with communication activities which promote access to public services and the building of positive relations.

Bridging the knowledge gap resulting from the specific condition of a foreigner (knowledge of the language, access to education, health services, vocational training, public housing policies, etc.) which penalises Italian citizens in comparable economic and social conditions. Include immigrants in policies aimed at solving problems of specific segments of the population in the territory (especially low-income people) of which immigrants are often an important part. It is considered fundamental to strengthen and provide for an information activity with the various means available to make foreigners aware of their rights and duties and the rules and culture of the welcoming community.

1. Actions
promoting knowledge about citizens' rights and obligations; to provide full information on the services offered, the possibilities of choice available, and the ways in which services are provided; provide information on how to enter and stay in Italy.

2. Expected results
publication of multilingual information sheets on how to enter and stay; preparation of information sheets for access to public services; information desk start-up; website update.

3. Impacts
facilitation of access to public services; awareness of the right of access to public services in the territory; improvement of the relationship of trust between public body and user.
