"Security and access for humanitarian interventions must be ensured."
War in Ukraine, UNHCR: 'Countless lives at risk'
The humanitarian consequences on the civilians will be devastating: in war there are no winners but only countless lives at risk".
This is how Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, intervenes on the ongoing military action in Ukraine.
"We have already received - Grandi adds - news of victims and people who have begun to flee their homes in search of safety. Human lives and civilian infrastructure must be protected and safeguarded at all times, in line with international humanitarian law. Security and access for humanitarian interventions must be guaranteed."
