“L'ITALIA PONGA FINE ALLA DISCRIMINAZIONE” “L’Italia deve porre fine alla discriminazione e alla xenofobia e migliorare la propria politica in materia di immigrazione”. Lo afferma Thomas Hammarberg, commissario per i diritti umani del Consiglio d’Europa. “Nonostante siano stati compiuti degli sforzi – afferma il commissario – permangono preoccupazioni per quanto riguarda la situazione dei rom, le politiche e le pratiche in materia di immigrazione e il mancato rispetto dei provvedimenti provvisori vincolanti richiesti dalla Corte europea dei diritti dell’uomo”. “Le autorità – ha aggiunto – dovrebbero condannare più fermamente ogni manifestazione di razzismo o di intolleranza e garantire l’effettiva applicazione della legislazione anti-discriminazione”. “Italy must put a stop to discrimination and xenophobia and improve its immigration policy”, has stated Thomas Hammarberg, Commissioner for Human Rights at the Council of Europe. “Despite the efforts that have been made" the Commissioner affirmed "there are still worries about the situation as regards Roma people, immigration procedures and failure to respect the binding temporary measures requested by the European Court of Human Rights”. “The authorities", he added, "should condemn all manifestations of racism and intolerance more decisively and guarantee the effective application of anti-discrimination legislation”. 17/04/2009

IMMIGRATI, POCHI PENSIONATI Gli immigrati sono fruitori marginali delle prestazioni pensionistiche. Oggi fra gli italiani v'è circa 1 pensionato ogni 5 residenti; tra gli immigrati nel 2015 vi sarà 1 pensionato ogni 25 residenti, con un carico ridotto per il sistema previdenziale rispetto all’entità di contributi che i lavoratori stranieri versano: circa 5 miliardi di euro l’anno. Lo afferma un Rapporto Inps che analizza il ruolo dei lavoratori immigrati nella società italiana come contribuenti e fruitori del sistema previdenziale. Dal Rapporto emerge tra l'altro un notevole sottoinquadramento dei lavoratori stranieri, con retribuzioni medie spesso inferiori a quelle degli italiani. There are few immigrants among those making use of pension services. Today there is 1 pensioner for every 5 residents among Italians; in 2015 there will be 1 pensioner for every 25 residents among immigrants, with a limited cost for the social security system as compared to the contributions the foreign workers pay: around 5 billion euro a year. These are the conclusions of an INPS report analysing the role of immigrant workers in Italian society as contributors and users of the social security system. Among other things, the report shows that there is a notable downgrading of foreign workers, whose average pay is often lower than that of Italians. 16/04/2009

ACCORDO ANCI-SAVE THE CHILDREN Sviluppare azioni comuni di promozione e tutela dei diritti dei minori stranieri non accompagnati attraverso attività di formazione, scambi di esperienze e raccolta di buone prassi. E' quanto prevede il protocollo di intesa firmato recentemente da Associazione nazionale dei Comuni italiani e Save the Children. Lo scopo è sensibilizzare le comunità locali sulla condizione dei minori stranieri non accompagnati, rafforzare le competenze degli operatori impegnati nel settore e promuovere la realizzazione di servizi per l'inclusione sociale e lavorativa dei minori più a rischio coinvolgendo le organizzazioni non profit presenti sul territorio. Developing common action promoting and safeguarding the rights of unaccompanied foreign minors through training activities, the exchanging of experience and the gathering together of good practice. This is the basis of the agreement recently signed by the national association of Italian municipalities and Save the Children. The aim is to raise the awareness of local communities as regards the situation of unaccompanied foreign minors, to reinforce the skills of those working in the sector and to promote the realisation of services for social inclusion and employment for those minors most at risk, by involving non profit making organisations present in the area. 20/04/2009

UN ANNO DI TG WEB In chiusura parliamo un po' di noi... Compie un anno il TG Web realizzato dal Centro informativo per l'immigrazione della Provincia autonoma di Trento. Il notiziario è stato seguito sinora da diverse migliaia di persone che si sono collegate al sito del Cinformi o che hanno cercato il TG Web direttamente su YouTUbe. Il telegiornale online rientra nell'ampio progetto di comunicazione integrata del Cinformi. Ne fanno parte anche le trasmissioni televisive, radiofoniche, il magazine cartaceo, le newsletter e, naturalmente, il sito www.cinformi.it, fino alla recente lavorazione degli spot televisivi e del cortometraggio sul tema della ricerca della casa. Finally, we would like to say a few words about ourselves... the web TV service realised by the immigration information centre of the Autonomous Province of Trento has its first anniversary today. To date the news programme has been watched by several thousand people, who have linked up to the Cinformi site or accessed the news programme directly via YouTUbe. The online news programme falls within Cinformi's wide-ranging integrated communication project. This includes radio and television broadcasts, a magazine, newsletters and naturally the site www.cinformi.it, concluding with the recent realisation of TV spots and a short film on the search for housing. 21/04/2009
