Procedures
for the entry, stay, enrolment of international students and the relative recognition of qualifications, for higher education courses in Italy valid for the academic year 2025-2026. The interministerial portal

The procedures concern non-EU students resident abroad who want to enrol in courses at universities, academies and conservatories in Italy from the next academic year. Non-EU students already legally resident in Italy can, on the other hand, enrol under the same conditions as Italian or EU students.
The first step, for international students wishing to come to Italy, is to submit a pre-enrolment application through
Universitaly.it
, the only free and official access portal of the Ministry of University and Research. If the pre-enrolment application is accepted, they will be able to obtain an entry visa for Italy and, once here, complete the enrolment procedures and obtain a residence permit for study purposes.
