From October 4 to December 13, 2024 at the Faculty of LawUniTn, SuXr Project (Super)
The new edition of Project SuXr (to be read “super”), an acronym for university and college students for refugees and refugee women, will take place from October 4 to December 13, 2024 in Trento.
The initiative joins the University's project aimed at the academic placement of students who are asylum seekers and holders of international protection (FUTURA program - University Training for Refugees-Refugees and Asylum Seekers), now in its eighth year.
SuXr's goal is to be able to offer the student component an important training opportunity from an interdisciplinary perspective on the phenomenon of forced migration and issues related to the resulting integration processes, issues that are becoming increasingly important from the perspective of active citizenship, transversal to all areas of study, as well as specific professional skills.
The cycle of events will consist of 8 in-person training sessions lasting 2 1/2 hours each (Fridays from 2:30 to 5 p.m.). The lectures will be held mostly by University faculty members pertaining to various Departments and Centers, and will be complemented by talks from third-sector actors and followed by the opportunity to experience volunteering in one of the associations accredited with the University (learning by doing).
The meetings, in Italian, will be held in person, in Room 6 of the Faculty of Law (Via Giuseppe Verdi, 53, 38122 Trento). The meeting scheduled for October 18, 2024, on the other hand, will take place in the conference hall of the Department of Economics and Management.
Participation at the event is free of charge. For organizational purposes, it is necessary to register for the series of events by filling out the online registration form.
On December 13 (from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.), a meeting will be held at the Faculty of Law to introduce the associations and entities that will host volunteers and volunteers. At the end of the training meetings, the student or student will be able to apply to begin the volunteer experience at the organization he or she considers closest to his or her interests (75 hours to be completed by December 31, 2025). The volunteer experience may include a variety of activities. When the volunteer activity is completed, the volunteer and the host entity will certify the completion of the amount of hours and activities performed for the issuance of the certificate of participation. Credits are currently recognized in the terms established independently by the respective Departments and Centers.
