In Rovereto, at the Aula Magna of the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science, on Sept. 27, 2024Public discourse, migration and people
Public Discourse, Migration and People is an open moment of study proposed by the research group International Migration Laboratory, within the framework of the Master's Degree in Migration Law and Policy, together with the Trentino Forum for Peace and Human Rights and the Antonio Megalizzi Foundation in order to put at the center of common reflection the way we talk about the social transformations that intersect the phenomenon of migration.
It is essential to find new words or rediscover different meanings for the words we use, because the language that today grounds our public discourse around these phenomena is too often characterized by prejudice and bias, by stereotypes and violence. We need to update the tools at our disposal: this is an issue that affects very different professional categories and areas of interest. From schools to newspapers, via everyday relationships and the use of social media, the issue of language (and its transformative power) is central to our society.
The event is scheduled for September 27 beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the Aula Magna of the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science, Palazzo Piomarta - Corso Bettini, 84 in Rovereto.
It is being accredited by the Order of Social Workers, Psychologists and Professional Educators. For CME credits, once accreditation is activated, you will need to send your credentials by noon on September 20, 2024 to emanuele.pastorino@unitn.it
