06/05/2024

Will represent over 100 million displaced people at the Games

Thirty-six athletes from 11 different countries, hosted by 15 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and competing in 12 sports, have been named members of the IOC Refugee Olympic Team for Paris 2024. The announcement was made by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). For the third time at the Olympic Games, the IOC Refugee Olympic Team will represent the more than 100 million displaced people around the world.
For the first time, the Refugee Olympic Team will compete with its own emblem, which aims to convey the different life paths of its member athletes through the design of an arrow and a marker. At the center of the emblem is a heart, which is derived from the Olympic Refuge Foundation logo, to represent the belonging that the team hopes to inspire and that athletes and displaced people around the world have found through sport.
