Memorial Day
On January 27 every year, the world remembers the victims of the Holocaust: this year, too, there are numerous events promoted by a network of actors in order not to forget. Among the series of initiatives to which the Autonomous Province of Trento has also contributed is the festival of remembrance, "Living Memory," launched on January 15 and ending next weekend. Another route, which has now become a fixture in the calendar, is Remembrance Auschwitz.EU, the memory trip that offers more than 400 young people from South Tyrol, Trentino and Tyrol the opportunity to visit the Jewish ghetto in Krakow and the concentration camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau; within this project, supported by the Province of Trento in collaboration with the Province of Bolzano, there is also the Memowalk on January 27, a visit to some significant places in Trento in which 200 young people from all over Trentino will be taking part.
Living Memory
The fourth edition of "Living Memory: the Freedom of Choice," which this year takes place in Trento, Rovereto, Cles, Tione, Pozza di Fassa and Riva del Garda and is organized by the Terra del Fuoco Trentino association, started in recent days and will end on January 29. Auschwitz.Eu Reminder
This is a regional project of remembrance and education for citizenship, as well as promotion of youth participation, organised by the associations Deina Trentino-Alto Adige, Arci del Trentino and Bolzano, co-financed by the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano. Reminder Auschwitz.Eu involves young people aged 17 to 25 from the three Euregio territories: in this edition 178 boys and girls from Trentino, 50 young people from Land Tirol and 164 from South Tyrol are participating. The young people from Trentino are supervised by 20 tutors and four staff members. As part of Reminder Auschwitz.Eu is part of the Memowalk scheduled for January 27 at 2 p.m., an audio-guided visit to the places of memory in Trento that were the scene of tragic events during World War II and that involves the Trentino boys and girls with their tutors.
