Mattarella, includes immigration in his end-of-year message

31/12/2024

‘It is patriotism that of those who, with origins in other countries, love Italy and make its constitutional values and laws their own’.

A brief passage but one full of meaning was dedicated to the phenomenon of migration in Italy by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in his traditional end-of-year message. From the fundamental sharing of the values expressed by the Constitution to the contribution of workers of migrant origin to the ‘Italian system’ to the relevance of a positive coexistence for the country's future. Here are the words of the President:
‘It is patriotism that of those who, with origins in other countries, love Italy, make its constitutional values and laws their own, live its everyday life to its full, and with their work and sensitivity become part of it and contribute to enriching our community. It is fundamental to create paths of integration and mutual understanding because the future of our societies also depends on this’.
