Sixteen Italian cities support UN refugee agency's campaign

Sixteen Italian cities will light up an iconic monument on the night of June 19th and 20th to mark World Refugee Day 2023 to support the UNHCR, UN Refugee Agency's campaign. This is intended to express solidarity with refugees and support the "Hope Away from Home" campaign , which aims to turn the spotlight on what we can all do to give refugees more hope and opportunities while they are far from home.
The initiative, which began in 2017 and has now become an internationally known event in Italy, involves the cities of Ancona, Bari, Bergamo, Carrara, Catanzaro, Florence, Genoa, Lampedusa, Naples, Palermo, Pozzallo, Rome, Taranto, Turin, Trieste and Verona. (photo: UNHCR)
