New Policy brief published“Enhancing the potential of foreign nationals in accessing the labour market.”
“Enhancing the Potential of Foreign Nationals in Accessing the Labour Market” is the new Policy brief edited by the Council of Europe, as part of the project ”Strengthening Multilevel Policy Coordination for Integration in Italy.”
It is the result of targeted research and a seminar held in Rome in November 2023 with more than sixty stakeholders, public and private, active in the fields of training, access to work and integration as well as the business community. The project, co-financed by the European Union through the Technical Support Instrument (TSI), is implemented by the Council of Europe in collaboration with the European Commission's DG Reform and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.
The Policy Brief offers an in-depth analysis of the challenges and opportunities for improving the integration of foreign nationals into the Italian labor market. The main issues addressed concern the governance of active labor policies, the enhancement of skills and matching labor supply and demand. The report also contains recommendations and short-, medium- and long-term goals to foster greater territorial cohesion and strengthen pathways to socio-labor integration, with particular attention to vulnerable groups.
