To have a comprehensive and constantly updated cognitive framework of migration dynamics, functional for the implementation of interventions responding to real emerging needs. This is the purpose of the renewed protocol signed in mid-April by the Ministry of the Interior and Istat, the National Institute of Statistics.
The protocol, whose first agreement dates back to March 2021, provides for several areas of collaboration: analysis of local realities, including through the involvement of prefectures; production of periodic institutional reports at the national and territorial level on the migration phenomenon; dissemination of research products; and training for the staff of both institutions.
The document also provides the framework for the implementation of the "MIGRASTAT" project, financed with resources from the FAMI 21/27 Fund, aimed at producing the first institutional report on legal migration.
