Entry, residence and enrolment procedures for the academic year 2023/2024

The Ministry of University and Research has published the procedures for the entry, stay, enrolment of international students and the recognition of qualifications, for higher education courses in Italy 2023-2024, now also available in English. The inter-ministerial portal Migrant Integration reports the news.
The procedures only concern aspiring freshmen still residing abroad, while non-EU citizens already legally residing in Italy, can access universities, academies and conservatories on equal terms with Italian and EU citizens.
The pre-enrolment application from abroad must be submitted using the UNIVERSITALY portal. Once it has been validated by the chosen university, it must be presented to the Italian consulate to apply for an entry visa, enabling you to come to Italy to take the Italian test and the admission test to the course. Once the tests have been passed, it is possible to enrol and obtain a residence permit for study.
