Anti-Trafficking Day, the events in Trento and Rovereto
On Sunday, October 18, 2020, was celebrated the 14th anniversary of the establishment of the European Day against Trafficking in Human Beings by the EU Commission. Sexual exploitation, seriously exploited labour, begging, forced criminal organizations (drug dealing and theft), forced marriages and organ trafficking are the areas where powerful criminal networks, often transnational, exploit their victims and obtain huge amounts of money that heavily affect the legal economy.
Information points were set up in Trento and Rovereto on Sunday, October 18, 2020. In addition, in Trento, on the walkway that crosses Piazza Dante, silhouettes in memory of the victims of human trafficking have been placed. The initiatives have been organized on the territory by the national network of Anti-trafficking Projects and by the National toll-free number in aid of victims of trafficking and/or serious exploitation.
