No more man-made stamps in passports for travelers from third countries entering or leaving for short stays

The new European digital system for managing entries and exits at the European Union’s external borders—the European Entry/Exit System (EES)—has become fully operational. The news was reported by the interministerial portal “ Integrazione Migranti
With the end of the six-month transitional period, traditional passport stamps are officially being replaced by electronic records. The system applies to third-country nationals entering or departing the Schengen Area for short-term stays (up to 90 days within a 180-day period). The goal is to make border controls faster, more modern, and more secure, improving border management and strengthening efforts to combat irregular stays and document fraud.
